Biografia (IT)
Pittrice, scenografa, performer.
Nata a Bari, si laurea all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Lavora fino al 2014 con il Teatro Mongiovino di Roma come scenografa e marionettista.
Dopo il trasferimento negli Stati Uniti, entra nella compagnia Paperhand Puppet Intervention in North Carolina, attiva come puppet maker, performer e musicista.
Espone con la Durham Art Guild e la Orange County Artists Guild, mentre dal 2018 sviluppa un progetto di arte politica esposto in mostre personali presso la University of North Carolina e la University of Kansas.
Tornata in Italia nel 2023, si ristabilisce a Bari, dove realizza un murale pubblico dedicato ad Alessandro Leogrande con il CPIA1.
Opera: Stella Maris

Stella Maris è un’opera che unisce sacro, migrazione e laicità in un’immagine potente e simbolica.
L’amuleto centrale fonde la stella cristiana a otto punte e la mano di Fatima (o di Miriam), simbolo comune a tradizioni islamiche ed ebraiche.
Protegge tre figure migranti in basso, avvolte in coperte termiche dorate che evocano l’iconografia della Sacra Famiglia.
La scena rievoca la fuga in Egitto di Maria, Giuseppe e Gesù (Vangelo di Matteo), collegandola ai drammi attuali.
Sulla barca compare l’art. 98 della Convenzione ONU sul diritto del mare: obbligo di prestare soccorso.
Un’opera che invoca giustizia, compassione e umanità condivisa.

Laura Grimaldi is a painter, set designer, and performer born in Bari, Italy.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and worked until 2014 with Teatro Mongiovino as a scenographer and puppeteer.
In North Carolina (USA), she joined Paperhand Puppet Intervention as puppet maker, performer, and musician.
She exhibited with the Durham and Orange County Artists Guilds and launched a political art project in 2018, with solo shows at the University of North Carolina and the University of Kansas.
In 2023, she returned to Bari and led the creation of a public mural dedicated to Alessandro Leogrande.

Stella Maris weaves together sacred symbolism, migration, and human rights.
The central talisman unites the eight-pointed Christian star with the hand of Fatima (or Miriam), shared by Islamic and Jewish traditions.
It protects three migrants wrapped in golden thermal blankets, evoking sacred imagery and the Holy Family.
The scene alludes to the biblical flight into Egypt, placing it in the context of today’s refugee crisis.
On the boat appears Article 98 of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea: the duty to render assistance.
A call for universal dignity, compassion, and solidarity.

لورا غريمالدي، رسامة، ومصممة مشاهد، ومؤدية، من مواليد باري – إيطاليا.
حاصلة على شهادة من أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في روما، وعملت حتى 2014 كمصممة ديكور ودمى في مسرح مونجوفينو.
في ولاية كارولاينا الشمالية، انضمت إلى فرقة Paperhand Puppet Intervention كفنانة عرائس ومؤدية وموسيقية.
عرضت أعمالها مع جمعيات فنية في دورهام وأورانج كاونتي، ومنذ 2018 تقود مشروعًا فنيًا سياسيًا في جامعات أمريكية.
عادت إلى باري عام 2023 ونفّذت جدارية عامة مخصصة لأليساندرو ليوغراندي بالتعاون مع CPIA1.
العمل الفني: نجمة البحر – Stella Maris
أكريليك على قماش – 76 × 100 سم
Stella Maris تعني “نجمة البحر” وأيضًا لقب قديم لمريم العذراء.
الرمز في اللوحة يجمع بين نجمة مسيحية ذات ثمانية رؤوس ويد فاطمة (أو يد مريم) المشتركة بين اليهودية والإسلام.
يحمي هذا الرمز ثلاث شخصيات مهاجرة أسفل اللوحة، مغطاة بأغطية ذهبية كتلك المستخدمة في عمليات الإنقاذ البحري.
تشير اللوحة إلى “الهروب إلى مصر” من إنجيل متى، وتجسد الربط بين المقدس والمأساة المعاصرة.
نص على القارب يقتبس المادة 98 من اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لقانون البحار: واجب تقديم المساعدة.
دعوة لإنسانية عادلة ورحيمة.
劳拉·格里马尔迪 简介 (中文)
劳拉·格里马尔迪是一位出生于意大利巴里的画家、舞台设计师与表演艺术家。
她毕业于罗马美术学院，曾在罗马Mongiovino剧院担任布景师和木偶师至2014年。
移居美国北卡后，加入 Paperhand Puppet Intervention 木偶剧团，并以表演者和音乐家身份参与多项演出。
自2018年起开展政治艺术项目，在北卡大学与堪萨斯大学举办个展。
2023年回到巴里，与CPIA1合作创作一幅纪念亚历山德罗·雷奥格兰德的公共壁画。

《Stella Maris》融合宗教象征、难民议题与人权精神。
画面中央是一个由八角星与“法蒂玛之手”（穆斯林与犹太教共同的护符）构成的护身符。
下方三位被金色保温毯包裹的难民形象，呼应圣经中圣家逃往埃及的故事。
船上写有《联合国海洋法公约》第98条：必须提供援助。
作品发出呼吁：跨越信仰、国界、族群，共守人类尊严。
